A Sachs Madass to Cameron Corner…

Although only in its second year the scrapheap builders are certainly coming up with some pretty out there builds. Tina is building a Sachs Madass to travel to the Corner. More here.

The Bill ‘OldDog’ Wilkin 280cc XR/XL

Bill got hold of an XL250 from The Sydney Skunkworks and has made some great progress so far. If you would like to check the build out go here.

tHE tREV and an XL-XR-DR hybrid

One of the riders from the first Scrapheap Adventure, tHE tREV (name on Adventure Rider) has shown us his build for the 2011 Scrapheap. tREV will be doing more than just riding to the corner however, both him and his machine will be riding up to the most northern tip of Australia to the most southern tip, and of course to the corner to attend the Scrapheap Adventure.

“Just over 4000K, if Google is to be believed…Then I was thinking about what bike I would do it on if I ever did get the chance to do it.
And I decided a 250 would be the way to go, just to add to the stupidity factor. Oh and make it an old 250 just to add a touch more to the already mentioned stupidity factor.”

tHE tREV completed the last Scrapheap on a ZZR250 he’d built into and off road machine and traveled from Townsville through to Wanaaring via Hungerford.
tREVs' ZZR

tREVs’ full ride report can be seen on Adventure Rider

His new bike certainly looks the goods. “It’s a pretty standard XL with an 84 XR250 front end, an XL500 Paris Dakar tank and an 88 DR250 headlight, surround and front mudguard.”

We wish tREV all the best on his adventure and look forward to catching up with him at the corner.
